What Components Make Up A Radio Mic Sysem

A radio mic system is made up of three fundamental components, firstly the microphone, be it a lavalier, headset, or handheld microphone, something has to capture the audio for whatever purpose you are using it for. Secondly, the transmitter, this is usually a discrete body pack that is connected to the microphone via a small cable and attached to the clothing of the performer, or in the case of most handheld microphones it is attached to the mic itself, this transmits the audio signal on the desired frequency band to the last and final component, the receiver. This is where you can get more creative as depending on the intended use these can be singular or multiple set ups where the audio signal is decoded and commonly output to a mixing desk or recording device, these receivers often require designated power supplies in order to work and any questions on these are more than welcome so feel free to contact us.

When you are looking at building your own radio mic set up you may be confused by what accessories and cabling you may require as depending on the range or the purpose that you are using these mics for you may need antenna distribution, or different antennas so please do contact us by when you are completing this process and we will help you find the cheapest deal available while not compromising your set up, our technicians based in Glasgow are constantly taking these systems apart and rebuilding them for different purposes and will be happy to answer any questions on what they think you may need to buy.
